Is Warframe Crossplay? Can you Play With Friends

Is Warframe crossplay? Warframe was launched way back in 2013 on PC. By the time I am writing this post in 2020 Warframe is additionally available to play on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Series S.

It is clear that Warframe does not slack off in making their game cross-platform.

Does Warframe support crossplay?

Unfortunately no. If you intend to play with friends on a different platform then you will have to continue waiting and hoping for now. However, it is highly unlikely to expect crossplay from Warframe anytime soon considering the content delay in other platforms.

Basically, PC players enjoy content updates a couple of months before PS4, X Box, and Nintendo switch players.

Of course, the delay will have to be sorted out first before thinking of making the game crossplay.

Warframe PS4 and PS5 crossplay

In a recent Play Station’s blog post, they announced that Warframe was coming to PS5. They continued by stating that there will be cross-save and cross-play features (Applause*), BUT crossplay would specifically between PS4 and PS5 (Sighs*).

The cross-save feature has been available but is only meant to be used once. This of course is because the versions of the game are out of sync. So it is a great option if you want to move to another platform.

Bottom line

Game companies ought to start implementing cross-play support for multiplayer games. This may be harder said than done especially when games are released on an exclusive console.

Some games though are trying, like Apex recently implemented crossplay. COD Modern Warfare also supports crossplay.

If popular titles are implementing cross-play to their games then it is almost certain that others will follow.

A world full of milk, honey, and vanilla. Don’t mind me, just describing the world where you will be able to play against/with anybody regardless of the platform you play on.
